Well, today was the first day of games. Of course, Shane while playing with the foot mallet, put a hole in the roof of the arena! Look at the photo.

U Conn has been a wonderful host. They put up a nice sign at the front of the arena letting everyone know that the tournament was being held this weekend. They also hosted a nice lunch and get together before the games started in the lobby of the arena. Boy it is a nice lobby!

We played Valley Forge Military Academy in the first game today. After a bad 1st chukker, Poway got it together. Danika played very well even though she pulled her neck muscle last week. It was very questionable whether she was even going to play.

Since we were doing well at the end of the 3rd chukker, she decided to sit out and let Adam play the last chukker in her place. Poway won the game with a score of 20 to 7.

The second game was Ft Worth vs Dillon Country Day School from Florida. It was a tough game with Dillon working hard against Ft Worth until the last chukker. Ft Worth won the game with a score of 23 to 14.

So tomorrow the championship game will be Ft Worth vs Poway. It will be very tough. Alex Gleason is playing very well and Jared will have his hands full.

Jared's Grandpapa, Tom Palmer, surprised him by being here for the games today. He also went with us to the banquet tonight.

The kids are having a good time with all the other teams (Ft Worth, Dillon and Valley Forge). Danika is the only girl competing in this tournament. She is quite the trooper!

It is late and the kids are watching the video for tomorrows game.
